After a successful inaugural expo in 2022, the City of Charles Sturt and City of Port Adelaide Enfield again collaborated to bring us the Western Jobs Expo this time at the new St Clair Recreation Centre in Woodville. Supported by the Local Jobs Networks and Workforce Australia, a range of businesses who are looking for staff or are able to offer educational opportunities where happy again to showcase their products and services while meeting job seekers and school students to discuss career pathways.
Hessel Group's Chief Operating Officer, Teresa Santillo and Marketing Manager, Tara Hancock attended to represent Enhance Training, Hessel Group Training (GTO), Allied Health and Support Services, Hessel Children's Centre as well as promote the opportunities available in our organisation. We met so many people interested in our Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30121) course and we were able to explain the job opportunities that stem from this Nationally Recognised qualification or the option to continue on to the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121).
We handed out many flyers for our disability and ageing courses too while also explaining traineeships with Hessel GTO and how we partner with leading organisations to host trainees to support their on the job training. This expo was a highly collaborative event with businesses able to refer and receive referrals for job seekers to assist them to make informed decisions about their pathways.
Enhance Training's Individual Support Trainer and Assessor, Beth Christensen visited us
Attended by the team from Fresh 92.7 who also manage their Fresh Jobs program, provided excellent entertainment and ensured the expo was vibrant and fun with competitions, raffles, great prizes and interviews of both job seekers and organisations. The expo was well attended by local high schools including Woodville High, Seaton High, Nazareth Catholic College and Ocean View who's motto is 'Reach for the Stars'. The students were able to meet with businesses to discuss career options, their interests and gather information to contemplate at home.
It was also great to meet new immigrants to Australia and learn about their skills and discuss the opportunities available to them. There were people looking for new careers in a new industry and the expo provided them with inspiration as to where to start. We happily connected on LinkedIn with job seekers and other business representatives, received resumes and made plans to meet people over a coffee to see how we can collaborate.
Thanks to everyone for organising, visiting and exhibiting at the Western Jobs Expo, it was a fun and busy day. See you in 2024.
