AHBS August 2022
Our team of Clinicians, Support Workers, Therapists and Carers are spread right through South Australia, we visited the South East to meet with job providers, schools and organisations to discuss the skills shortage and presented upskilling options. We attend the Lucindale Field Days where we met the community and local industry to discuss our opportunities, services and training courses we look forward to strengthening relationships into 2023.

Mobile Creche was an area of growth for our business with many families now residing in South Australia, it can be difficult for parents to attend conferences and events without a support network to mind their children. Our dedicated team attended a wide variety of events including, sporting events, award ceremonies, work or industry conferences, weddings and information days to safely care for the children of guests which is a safe and convenient service for all stakeholders. Hessel Group's Mobile Creche is fun for everyone.

Azadeh and Cayetana from our Learner Support Services (LSS) team have both excelled at supporting students who have needed some guidance to succeed with their studies and reach tailored learning goals. These students are from many registered training organisations across South Australia, we are just lucky to have them based with us. Below is a video of Cayetena being interview by Azadeh about LSS, check it out!

Hessel Group Training Organisation Turned 1

Hessel Group Training Organisation (GTO) turned 1 and we saw our first group of trainees complete their traineeships. Business traineeships proved popular for both host training organisations looking to boost their workforces and trainees wanting a fantastic career starter. Host organisations included a national removalist firm, medical manufacturing business, aged care facility, training organisations and Hessel Group employed three business trainees to work across the business units. We saw growth in Early Learning with trainees based in centres right across the metropolitan area. We thank our host organisations for taking on trainees and building their skilled workforce pipelines, we have loved working with you. Congratulations to our trainees for their commitment, dedication and resolve to complete their traineeships and start their careers or progress to further study.

Hessel Children's Centre Wins NWBA Award 2022

Hessel Children's Centre in Port Adelaide we are so pleased to report has reached maximum capacity with waiting lists for all age groups. The children are thriving and we have welcomed new staff while also fare-welling some favourites as they move interstate or to further their careers.

We were thrilled this year to be awarded the best Large Business for 2022 from the North West Business Alliance at a wonderful awards ceremony which celebrated other winners from our community.

Centre Director Hana and Hessel Group CEO Tanya holding the award from North West Business AllianceOur community continued to grow and we enjoy welcoming new people and businesses to help us educate and care for our children. We celebrated and acknowledged many events and our favourite was welcoming 80 grandparents and special friends to share a morning with us which was a truly special day for everyone.

We love being apart of these special formative years for our children who develop so quickly, one of our favourite things is when they begin to talk and tell us things like we're so much nicer when we wear make-up, or that they're going on a business trip, or tell us to check to see if their manners are in their bag or if electricity was around when we were little. Every day bring new experiences, words and stories.

Events and Community

We partnered with Workforce Australia to attend jobs expos through the metropolitan area which connected us with job seekers. We love meeting people to discuss careers in care and the vast options Hessel Group can provide.

On a cold and rainy night in June, CEO Tanya Cole slept outside raising over $2,000 for the Soup and Sleep event hosted by Cafe Outside the Square. Participants prepared meals while being treated to some inspiring speeches and entertainment before rolling out the sleeping bags for the night. This annual event raises awareness and funds for Adelaide's disadvantaged community.

Hessel Group continued to grow and plan strategically for 2023 which will be our 25th year in operation with some exciting events and announcements to come. We wish our community a safe and happy festive season and can't wait to reconnect again in 2023!
