Tanya Cole launched Hessel Pty Ltd which was branded as nannySA in 1998 while researching solutions for her own childcare needs. The business continued to grow under her leadership and exceeded expectations as the industry rapidly developed and evolved. Recognising a skills gap in the child services industry, Tanya launched Enhance Training (RTO 40387) to provide students new to the industry and current Children’s Centre staff with knowledge and qualifications.

In 2021 and as CEO of Hessel Group, Tanya commenced the Hessel Group Training Organisation (GTO) to service South Australia’s social care sector. Hessel GTO hires trainees, facilitates their nationally recognised training through registered training organisations and places the trainees with host employer organisations to complete their on-the-job training.

Hessel GTO trainees are now working in Business Administration, Early Childhood Education and Care, Disability Support and Aged Care across the State with growing interest from the industry in this rewarding program.

Tanya is a successful and innovative leader in South Australia’s skills and VET industry with a clear passion for skilling for the future, she draws on her knowledge and experience to drive success in any project.

Tanya is a board member of the South Australian Skills Commission, Chair Viva Mutual, Board Member North Eastern Vocational College.

“With Brad joining Hessel Group, it is an opportunity to further our growth with new blood in the business having someone with new and innovative concepts allowing us to look at the business from a different perspective.” Tanya Cole.

Hessel Group is also South Australia’s largest provider of In-Home Care, a service offering open to families who are unable to access standard childcare. Our care and support model incorporates Disability Support with skilled staff assisting clients to be as independent as possible and live fulfilling lives.

Hessel Children’s Centre, in the heart of Port Adelaide, was opened in late 2019 and powered its way through a difficult 2020-21. However, despite the challenges, a loving and positive community has been established with the centre thriving and always welcoming new families, staff and trainees.

Hessel Allied Health and Behavioural Support Clinic commenced in 2019 servicing NDIS clients via referrals and enquiries. This arm of the Hessel Group employs administration staff, practitioners and clinicians to service clients from our clinic in Fullarton and within the wider South Australian community.

Hessel Group is looking forward to this new phase under the partnership of Tanya and Brad with the key focus of upskilling South Australia’s social care sector and building skilled workforce pipelines.
