Trainees and apprentices receive on-the-job training as part of their program and start learning practical skills and processes that are current industry standards, from their very first shift. Traineeships also creates a pathway for career progression or further study options.

We want to make it as easy as possible for businesses to take on a trainee; the trainee remains Hessel GTO’s responsibility so we handle the recruitment, placement, training commitments and administration. This includes enterprise agreements, pay rates and entitlements - these are part of our legal responsibility to the trainee.

Wage Subsidies

You may also be eligible for a wage subsidy of up to 10% of wages from the Australian Government to take on a trainee in your business. Subsidies are paid to a new or recommencing apprentice or trainee for a 12-month period from the date of commencement, to a maximum of $1,500 per quarter. You may also imagine the paperwork and time it takes to apply for and process the subsidy applications and Hessel GTO
