Black Dog Ride 2023

POSTED ON March 21, 2023

We encourage, support and love listening to the passions our staff have away from their busy working lives which can include learning opportunities, charity work, casual work, sporting or artistic pursuits or volunteering in the community.

Enhance Training's Trainer and Assessor, Beth Christensen is no exception. She recently supported the 2023 Black Dog Ride raising funds and awareness of depression and suicide prevention. Sadly 8 Australians per day are losing their lives to suicide. The Black Dog Ride is an annual event running since 2010 and from this support, the organisation has managed to expand to support large not for profits including LifeLine, Mental Health First Aid Australia and the Black Dog Institute. With the public's generous and ongoing support, change can occur.

The Black Dog Ride welcomes donations that are tax deductable over $2 - donate HERE.

Beth has experience in both Disability specific and general community services, having worked in both state government and not for profit organisations. Her knowledge and skills has also given her the ability to be a carer for various family members, providing her with lived experience. She started as a trainer in 2003 and has worked for several Registered Training Organisations. Beth’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Science, Associate Degree in Social Science (Disability Studies) a Certificate IV Pastoral Care as well as her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. In 2023 she has also commenced studying for a Certificate III in Individual Support.

Beth lives for the opportunity to help students grow into great support workers. She is a client advocate making sure that our students understand the need to work with each client according to their wishes.

Along with all of this, Beth is a local musician performing with her band at many gigs across South Australia including participating in Club Cool @The Gov - an inclusive live music event.
