Ashley Completes Her Traineeship

POSTED ON April 18, 2023

Our Hessel Group Training Organisation (GTO) is about to see a flurry of traineeship completions in the following months, keeping our Field Officer,  Bernie Crafter, very busy. These trainees work across aged care, disability, child care and business fields under the mentorship and supervision of host organisations looking to build their skilled workforce pipelines.

Today, we are celebrating Ashley Van Rooy, who completes her Business Traineeship, launching her into a new career using her knowledge and skills confidently in the workplace.

Hessel GTO's Partnerships Manager, Gill Elleway, worked with a leading residential care facility in Freeling, Wheatfields, to help them fill administration gaps in their office, supporting their team and management and providing excellent customer service. Hessel GTO ran the recruitment process, including advertising the role, interviewing candidates and presenting a shortlist to Wheatfields, who offered the role to Ashley.

Bernie then prepared Ashley to commence work, assisted with her enrolment into the course to gain a nationally recognised qualification BSB30120 Certificate III in Business with North East Vocational College, and connected her to Trainer Rosalie Ialeggio. A meeting was also conducted with MAS National to sign the training contract, and Ashley's traineeship commenced.

Ashley's working week as a trainee saw her in the Wheatfields office four days a week while studying one day a week. This provided the ideal environment for her to take her newly acquired skills into the workplace, which built confidence. She was also mentored by staff at Wheatfields and had regular check-ins with Bernie to ensure she was supported and thriving.

Below is a questionnaire Ashley has completed:
