Talia Completes Her Traineeship

Written by Hessel Group | May 23, 2023 5:47:39 AM

Completing her SACE certificate in 2021, Talia continued her role as a kitchen hand with Fasta Pasta as well as supporting her local community with babysitting and cleaning work while she considered her broader career options.

Talia was interviewed by Hessel Group and introduced to a Host Employer who offered her a traineeship.  Hessel engaged with MAS National to administer the training contract, and she was enrolled in the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) CHC33015 with Enhance Training RTO 40387.  She was up and away!

About half way through her on the job training, Talia and the Host Employer agreed that a different environment within their industry would be worth trying to allow her to pursue a 1:1 care model.  Talia continued to complete units towards her qualification while Hessel GTO arranged another Host Employer.

Hessel GTO's Growth and Partnerships Manager, Gill had been working with a much respected Adelaide Residential Care Facility - St. Anna's to build their skilled workforce pipeline. St. Anna's has a healthy, dedicated and multi skilled workforce and the traineeship program makes sense for them to welcome a new staff member onboard. St Anna's ability to support a trainee, mentor them and instil the St. Anna's values and beliefs was a winning solution.

Talia was interviewed by St Anna's and was offered the role. St. Anna's Home Care Manager/Registered Nurse, Rebecca Foster was Talia's Host Supervisor providing mentorship and guidance. With the group training all-round support model, which includes regular visits from Hessel GTO Field Officer Bernie Crafter, meetings with Host Supervisors and strong communication, Talia thrived and has now completed her traineeship.

"Talia commenced her studies as a Vocational Education and Training (VET) student. She spoke with passion when it came to the industry that she wanted to be employed in.

Talia has demonstrated a variety of skills and knowledge during her studies: her answers reflect passion when supporting individuals, empathy and identify professional relationships boundaries.

As a trainee, Talia worked in the industry while completing her studies in Cert III IS Ageing and has also nearly finished her dual qualification completing the disability units. Talia is a committed student who never gave up and strived to be the best she could, Congratulations."

It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Talia and watch her flourish during her Traineeship. This type of learning and growing has certainly been filled with challenges but her hard work and dedication have paid off! Talia has built a wonderful rapport with clients and her work colleagues through her gentle, kind, and caring approach.  I’m extremely proud of Talia’s accomplishments and through her knowledge and skills that she has gained over her traineeship. She is already an amazing Care Worker.

Well done Talia congratulations! 😊

Bernie Crafter, Hessel GTO Field Officer.

Congratulations to Talia and to St. Anna's, we wish you every success for the future.
