Soup & Sleep 2023

The Hessel Group team really enjoy being active in the community with many volunteering for local sports clubs, not-for-profits, schools or hospitals. 

Hessel Group Chief Executive Officer, Tanya Cole always leads by example and she participated in Soup & Sleep in 2022 raising over $2,200 and enjoying the event which is the major annual fundraising and awareness campaign of it's originator, Cafe Outside the Square.

This organisation's motto is 'no one goes hungry' and the Soup & Sleep event provides the opportunity to raise awareness of the disadvantaged as well as much appreciated funds donated by the public.

Tanya continues to volunteer regularly with Cafe Outside the Square where she works with a dedicated team to prepare meals, share stories and promote it's excellent work.

For Soup & Sleep this year, Tanya will be abroad and will miss out on physically being there on the night - 8th June, 2023. Without hesitation, Hessel Group's Chief Operating Officer Teresa Santillo volunteered to represent Hessel Group and will sleep rough for the night.

Yes, for those who know Teresa, we were shocked too. Sleeping rough doesn't seem to be Teresa's optimal night out however, it really isn't that surprising as we do know that she has the biggest heart and is always advocating for those who can't find their voice.

On the night, Teresa and her fellow participants will prepare meals for Adelaide's less fortunate before rolling out the sleeping bag to sleep rough under the stars (hopefully not rain).

This will be a entertaining, educational and no doubt emotional night and we're proud Teresa will be representing Hessel Group.
