Nathan Goes to the Dark Side of the Moon

POSTED ON April 26, 2023

As Allied Health Manager and Senior Physiotherapist with Hessel Group, Nathan supports our team of clinicians and therapists and is a dedicated professional focused on improving the lives of our NDIS clients by working with them individually to set and reach their goals. His main physiotherapy interests include exercise-based therapy, play-based therapy, and hydrotherapy. He also enjoys helping clients presenting with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions, after previously working in a sports injury clinic.

It's not often we get to peek into the private lives of our team members, but we are glad to share the recent experience Nathan had in travelling to Exmouth in Western Australia as part of an official Pink Floyd competition to experience the total solar eclipse.

Nathan entered a competition to celebrate Pink Floyd's 50th anniversary of The Dark Side of The Moon album. He was one of just 8 winners to travel to Exmouth in Western Australia to experience the total solar eclipse on the 20th of April 2023. A special listening party of the album was organised by Pink Floyd at McLeods Beach in Ningaloo Marine Park (Nyinggulu), 10km north of Exmouth on the tip of WA's North West Cape. This was considered the best vantage point to view the total solar eclipse which lasted for just 58 seconds. “This is something I’ll never forget” said 27-year-old Nathan, who took the trip in tribute of his father – a Pink Floyd mega fan who passed away in 2021. “It was like Dad was there with me”.

This would have definitely been the most unique time and location to listen to an iconic album that means so much to so many, including Nathan. Watch this story about Nathan's experience, it's incredibly moving and we're so happy for him to experience this iconic moment.
