Today, we are celebrating the remarkable achievement of Emily Fry as she successfully completes her Aged Care Traineeship with Hessel GTO and her host employer, Uniting Communities.

During her traineeship, Emily had the incredible opportunity to pursue her studies in Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing) CHC33015 at Enhance Training RTO 40387, all while gaining invaluable on-the-job training at Uniting Communities. This dynamic combination allowed her to seamlessly apply her newfound knowledge and skills in a practical setting, fostering continuous growth in her confidence and expertise.

Emily is seen in this photo alongside Mel, her trainer from Enhance Training, Bernie, her Field Officer from Hessel GTO, and Neha, her Host Supervisor.

Below is a questionnaire Emily has completed, reflecting on her training and study journey:

How did you find the traineeship experience overall?

It was really good. The providers I had were really helpful and were there whenever I needed and regularly checked in on me.

What did you do before your traineeship?
So I was actually studying my cert III in child care

What do you personally like most about working with your host employer uniting communities?
They were very helpful and understanding with a lot of things and I did have some really nice client

What does a typical day look like in your role?
So a normal day I would generally work between 9-5 not always those hours and do cleaning and social services.

What has been your most memorable moment during your traineeship?

I would have to say my growth and willing and wantingness to actually complete the work I had some stages in my traineeship where I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to complete and had some personal issues but over came them and was able to finish.

What did you find most challenging in your traineeship?

Again it would have to be the reason that was my most memorable it was also my most challenging too

Had the training, mentoring and support provided been sufficient?

I think it has been really good they are always there when I need help and check in from time to time to make sure I’m on track.

Emily's exceptional skills and dedication have earned her a well-deserved position at Uniting Communities. As a valued member of their team, her experience and expertise will undoubtedly contribute to the success of the organisation.

Congratulations, Emily! We are excited to see the amazing opportunities that lie ahead for you in the industry.
