Donna Completes Her Traineeship

Written by Hessel Group | Apr 24, 2023 4:00:47 AM

Hessel Group Training Organisation (GTO) Field Officer, Bernie Crafter had the pleasure of visiting our Trainee, Donna one last time at her host organisation, SACARE at their Tolley House facility in Hope Valley.

Bernie estimates she has visited Donna about 8 times during Donna's 12 month traineeship to provide support and receive updates on her progress and learnings. During these visits, Bernie also meets with her host supervisor, Alana to offer guidance and support through Donna's traineeship and to ensure smooth processes.

Probably one of the biggest benefits traineeships through Hessel GTO is the dedicated field officer that has the best interests at heart for both organisations and trainees and to ensure traineeships are completed efficiently and successfully. The field officer is responsible for ensuring all stakeholders of the traineeship are thriving which includes the trainee, the host organisation and the registered training organisation (RTO). This is achieved by regular contact both in person and via digital channels.

Donna's process started by knowing she wanted to explore a career as a support worker and wanting to gain the skills to help her start with confidence. She applied for an advertised role of Disability Support Traineeship and after a conversation with the Hessel GTO recruitment team, interview and an interview with host employer, SACARE Donna was offered the position.

Bernie as field officer then took over from the recruitment team and enrolled Donna in the Certificate III in Individual Support CHC33015 course offered through Enhance Training RTO 40387. Bernie then arranged a meeting with Australian Apprenticeship Network Provider MAS National to administer the training contract.

Through the traineeship, Donna is able to bring her new skills learned through the nationally recognised course into the workplace including first aid, manual handling and how to recognise healthy body systems. This provides the ideal springboard to a new career whether you're entering straight from school or changing direction later in life.

We celebrate Donna's achievement in completing the traineeship and starting her new career as a dedicated support worker with SACARE as a valued and skilled member of their team. View our catch up with Donna and her host supervisor Alana below:
